The Military Recognition Banner Program honors our brave men and women who are actively serving in the military. In order to be eligible, the military member must be:
· An Active Member of the U.S. Armed Forces or Reservist;
· A current resident of Hacienda Heights, Rowland Heights, or Unincorporated Whittier; or
· Currently have an immediate family member in any of these unincorporated areas.
· Must provide proof of past or current residency
· Must provide proof of active military duty.
· Applications must be renewed every year
Applications for the recognition banner are available at the Regional Chamber of Commerce - San Gabriel Valley Office. Applications must be renewed every year in order for Banner to remain displayed.

History of Program
In July 2007, Los Angeles County Supervisor Don Knabe established the Fourth District Military Recognition Banner Program in the unincorporated communities of Hacienda Heights, Rowland Heights and Whittier. This free program recognizes the dedicated service of our military personnel. In partnership with the Regional Chamber of Commerce - San Gabriel Valley, banners are currently being displayed to honor our active duty military residents of those communities.
Currently approximately 500 banners are displayed throughout the community. The banners remain up while the military service personnel are on active duty. Once the service personnel are no longer active, the banner is removed and given to him/her or their family.
